Tract was engaged by Moremac to help shape and communicate the vision for Alira, a new residential community in Berwick centred around the shared enjoyment of naturalistic waterfront living. Through a collaborative master planning process, Tract’s Landscape Architecture team developed a framework that celebrates the site’s landscape character while creating opportunities for connection, recreation and everyday engagement with nature.

The landscape vision is anchored by three major interconnected wetland reserves, which provide a network of recreational destinations while delivering significant biodiversity and habitat outcomes. The wetlands create a unique sense of place, offering residents opportunities to connect with nature through walking trails, open lawns, play spaces, and water-sensitive landscapes.

A key feature of the open space network is a 0.8-hectare neighbourhood reserve positioned alongside one of the major wetlands. Designed as an active community hub, the reserve combines a destination playground, half-court basketball, informal gathering spaces and shaded seating within a richly planted landscape setting.

Drawing inspiration from the adjacent wetland environment, the play experience incorporates nature-themed elements, generous accessibility features and opportunities for all-ages recreation. The reserve strengthens the connection between community life and the natural landscape, creating an inviting place for residents to meet, play and enjoy views across the surrounding wetlands.

In early project visioning phases, Tract’s Media team worked closely with the client, design consultants and marketing teams to translate the masterplan into a compelling visual narrative. A suite of high-quality 3D renders and immersive animations was produced to showcase the future character of the community, highlighting key public spaces, landscape experiences and residential outcomes.

The integrated approach combined strategic landscape thinking with impactful visual communication, helped to bring the vision for Alira to life and supporting its successful introduction to the market.
