A strategic vision to enhance visitor experiences, support sustainable tourism, and protect the outstanding natural values of Springbrook National Park.
As part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area and ideally located between the Gold Coast and Brisbane, Springbrook National Park is one of Queensland’s most iconic natural destinations, attracting thousands of domestic and international visitors each year.

While visitation continues to grow, many of the park’s visitor facilities, including arrival areas, car parks, trailheads, walking trails, lookouts, and creek crossings, are constrained by limited capacity, inconsistent design standards, and ageing infrastructure.
Recognising the need to improve visitor infrastructure and support future demand, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships (QPWS&P) engaged Tract to prepare a conceptual, precinct-wide Strategic Master Plan. The plan establishes a cohesive framework for enhancing visitor experiences, improving accessibility and safety, and guiding future investment across the park.

The Master Plan focuses on Springbrook’s key destinations and attractions while carefully balancing the needs of residents, visitors, and the surrounding environment. Priority areas include the Settlement Day Use Area, Purling Brook Falls, Gwongorella Picnic Area, Gauriemabah, the Tallanbana Trailhead Link and Car Park, Goomoolahra Picnic Area and Bilbrough Falls, Best of All Lookout, and Canyon Lookout.
